2007 Rutherford Ranch Rouge (Napa Valley Zinfandel Port)
A full-bodied vintage port-style wine, layered with bright cherry candy flavors coupled with fresh cranberries and raspberries and menthol notes with a bold, warm, seductive finish.
With a candied apple and baked cherry concentrate aroma dominating the nose, dried plum aromas are displayed in a more subtle fashion.
Food Recommendation:
This Zinfandel port tastes wonderful paired with an array of desserts, especially French vanilla bean ice cream, crème brûlée, walnut tort and warmed pecan pie.
Winemaker's Notes:
Grapes for this vintage port-style wine comes from a single petit vineyard of old-vine Zinfandel in the Vaca range of the Napa Valley, west of St. Helena. This proved a superb source for our Rutherford Ranch Rouge. Attributable to extended hang time in 2005 and careful attention by our grower partner and winemaking staff, we are very proud to offer a follow up to our blockbuster initial release.
